Project Overview

The Savory Foundation, with support from the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, is leading a three-year initiative to regenerate grasslands and revitalize rural livelihoods across the Iberian Peninsula through Holistic Management. The project aims to engage 100 livestock producers managing approximately 30,000 hectares in a transition toward regenerative practices, backed by training, ecological monitoring, and technical support.

By generating measurable improvements in ecosystem health—such as soil fertility, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration—the project seeks to unlock new income streams for producers via high-integrity ecosystem service markets. Ultimately, the initiative is designed to strengthen local food systems, demonstrate climate-positive agriculture at scale, and build a replicable model for regenerative finance and land stewardship across Europe.
